WA: Barnett expected to land Libs top job unopposed

COLIN BARNETT is expected to be elected unopposed as the Western Australian Liberal
Party's new leader when the party meets today.

The party has been in disarray following the shocking election loss in February and
the subsequent leadership challenge between Mr BARNETT and former premier RICHARD COURT.

Mr COURT'S resignation on Friday -- after he recently won the state Liberal leadership
challenge against Mr BARNETT by three votes -- paves the way for Mr BARNETT to take on
