TAVVE Software Brings Frame Relay Management Tools to NMS Platforms.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Jan. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- TAVVE Software Company of Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, announced today that it would offer a new "snap-in" application for existing OpenView or NetView systems. TAVVE has expanded its Performance Reporting Module (PRM) product line to include the new Frame Relay monitoring and reporting product, tsc/PRM for Frame Relay. This new product can be installed in less than 30 minutes and will provide users with all the pertinent information they need to proactively manage their WAN services.

"TAVVE Software's tools bridge the gap between consulting services and outsourced managed services," said Nick Francis, CEO of TAVVE Software. "Our engineers have been listening to the end-users of our products and have expanded our product line to include features they have most asked for including:

-- Top 25 list of busiest circuits (measured by comparing traffic flow to

CIR.)

-- Top 25 Trend Analysis of circuits that will hit their configured

thresholds in traffic flow in 'n' days or less.

-- Detailed graphs displaying traffic flow per circuit (DLCI), including:

-- CIR line for easy reference

-- User configured threshold for easy reference

-- Analysis on how soon circuits will reach CIR

-- Analysis on how soon circuits will reach "what if" CIR

-- Graphs over any time period

-- Special frame relay profiles detailing circuits with FECN and BECN

information

-- Documentation explaining `frame relay concepts.'"

"We have even included `what if' scenarios so that users can vary their CIR values to see what the impact would be on their network costs if they lowered their CIR values," added Anthony Edwards, CTO and founder of TAVVE Software.

TAVVE's tsc/PRM for Frame Relay can manage any FRAD (Frame Relay Access Device) or router that supports the standard IETF Frame Relay MIB (rfcl3l5) for SNMP data collection. Use of this standard MIB eliminates customer need for expensive vendor specific intelligent CSU/DSUs or RMON probes.

TAVVE's tsc/PRM for Frame Relay offers fully integrated, scaleable frame relay management solutions for ISP's (Internet Service Providers) and corporate users. tcs/PRM for Frame Relay brings to the industry the complete management of frame relay circuits by exploiting and extending Tivoli TME 10 NetView and Hewlett Packard's OpenView NMS platforms. This new TAVVE product allows for the precise monitoring of frame relay circuit bandwidth utilization including circuit-level reports, line congestion and overall performance trends. The new tsc/PRM for Frame Relay product also takes advantage of the NMS systems scalability, allowing users to handle any size and complexity of corporate telecommunications environments.

"TAVVE's PRM for Frame Relay allows us to view our CIR as never before, thus allowing us to better manage our Frame Relay cost," said Robert Davies, Senior Network Consultant for United Guaranty Mortgage Corp.

When tsc/PRM for Frame Relay is combined with tsc/EventWatch, it gives users the ability to detect faults and isolate the alarms to a single correlated root cause for frame relay circuits. tsc/EventWatch also builds a dependency database of all Frame Relay interfaces and their individual circuits. This information is integrated within the NMS systems to provide a broader view of the network, systems and application devices, allowing users to understand the relationship and impact analysis between all entities within their entire enterprise.
